"Frankly, some of the most important innovation at eBay is driven by all of you. We are absolutely both awed by and appreciate the spirit of entrepreneurialism and innovation you bring to the eBay Community." Developer Forums Thread of Every Other Week
Recently in the Tech Soup forum, PHP developer juvenil2006 was looking for assistance in getting past an error message trying to get started with the PHP5 code samples. Turns out, this developer wasn't alone. zhuowei.developersupport@ebay.com recommended a workaround that did the trick for juvenil2006: "It fixed my 931 error. The problem was that each request was sent to the Sandbox-Server. I was finally able to solve that problem when I changed the SandboxServer from 'true' to 'false' when I created a new session object." Can you make a usability improvement to the current PHP5 code sample? It's open source - so you can log-in to the codebase using your eBay Developer User ID (same as for developer.ebay.com), then submit your patch to the Issue Tracker. view the thread, then submit your fix >

eBay's San Dimas in InformationWeek
"Seeing eBay as a platform is a core tenet of our philosophy. Don't get me wrong--the Web site isn't going away, we just want to provide choice." J. Nicholas Hoover from InformationWeek recently quoted eBay technical evangelist Alan Lewis in his article about the history of rich Internet applications from Adobe, Macromedia and Microsoft. San Dimas, the eBay desktop application that will be entering private beta soon, has been building on Adobe's Apollo format since last summer. read article >
