We're just a couple of weeks away now from eBay Developers Conference, happening June 16-18 in San Jose, CA. Our API team is buzzing with excitement as we make our final preparations to welcome the developers and entrepreneurs who we work with throughout the year to our campus. eBay DevCon is an incredibly rewarding experience for all of the staff who work at the event, and we can't wait for it to begin.
We've rounded out our strong keynote line-up with a couple of industry heavyweights: Mark Gorenberg, Managing Director at Hummer Winblad Venture Partners and Lorrie Norrington, President of eBay Marketplaces. Our Keynotes page for speaker bios and information
about all of the exciting keynotes happening at eBay Developers Conference this
year.
$199 is a fantastic price for access to this type of learning, networking and face-time with our eBay API team. Register now if you don't want to miss out.
See y'all in two weeks!

Ah, it's that time again. Spring slowly fading away to make room for Summer with warm days and crisp, cool nights in beautiful San Francisco Bay Area.
This will be my second DevCon conference... I had the very last session of the conference last year. This year, I start off with the very first session to speak about eBay Product Roadmap. Here are the timings, there is a repeat session just in case:
June 17th: 11:30 am - 12:20 pm
June 18th: 12:30 pm - 1:20 pm
I hope to meet up with several folks that I got a chance to see at the 2008 DevCon, and some more. I expect to learn more about the triumphs and travails of our dear customers building on the eBay Platform. I am sure to be energized by the ideas and enthusiasm that clever entrepreneurs bring with them to serve the needs of our mutual customers.

The PromotionalDiscount element in the Fees.Fee container is new in version 619. Returned for the entire AddItem family of calls, PromotionalDiscount is present in the response whenever a promotional discount has been applied the listing features selected for the respective item listing. PromotionalDiscount provides an easy way to see what discounts have been realized when a seller lists an item.
For details on the PromotionalDiscount element and the fees associated with listing an item, see Fees Resulting from Listing an Item.
This new feature signifies a change in behavior for VerifyAddItem. With a request version lower than 619, VerifyAddItem returns the full price of the feature in the Fees.Fee.Fee element, regardless of whether or not a discount was applied. With a release version of 619 or higher, Fee values returned for VerifyAddItem represent the actual cost of the respective feature, with any discounts subtracted from the posted feature price. The amount of the discount is the value returned in PromotionalDiscount. The new behavior matches the behavior of AddItem.
