It's Official: Lowest Supported Version = 473
As previously mentioned, the lowest supported version is now 473. In February and August of each year, eBay increments the lowest supported schema version.  (See eBay's Version Support Schedule.) In February (release 551), the lowest supported version changed from 447 to 473. This means we  stopped supporting objects that were deprecated prior to version 473. For a complete list of deprecated objects (and which objects to use instead),  see Deprecated Objects.

The new shipping changes from A to Z
In conjunction with making the Gallery picture free in the US, CA, and a few other international eBay sites, we are making some product changes on those sites to how the Gallery picture is generated and to other picture-related listing upgrades. The Gallery product changes are intended to provide a more consistent and better experience for buyers searching and browsing the site. I know you're dying to hear all about it, so check the blog post for the full story »
Watch the best rise to the top - Best Match!
Best Match is a sort feature that gives buyers another way to organize their search results and also helps buyers find what they are looking for more quickly. Beginning in March 2008, Best Match will become the default sort in search and browse. The Best Match score for each listing is calculated using a number of factors tailored to each buying situation. Along with the listing keywords and other information, one of most important calculation elements is the historical buyer behavior on eBay for similar searches. For details on what goes into making the "Best Match," see the blog post »
Improved navigation bars for Trading docs
In 2007, a bunch of us on the eBay API doc team tested a new navigation bar style with several of you, resulting in the green/yellow style of nav bars that you see in the eBay Shopping Call Reference --a style which you have cited as easier to use than the nav bar style seen in prior versions of the eBay Trading Input/Output Reference.  It's easier to see and jump to the sections of interest, etc. We've applied that improved nav bar style today to version 551 of the eBay Trading Input/Output Reference. Enjoy!
